Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Worship Service Times & Styles

We worship together on Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m in the Sanctuary in Avon. There's also a service at 10:30 a.m. at the Avon Campus in The Venue. There are communal dinners on most Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Avon Campus. We also meet as small groups and classes throughout the week.  We look forward to meeting you.

Avon: 590 West Avon Road, Avon, Connecticut. Get directions and contact information.

Bristol: 718 Pine Street, Bristol Connecticut. We meet at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Thanksgiving Service & Baptisms

Our special all-church Thanksgiving worship service will be held in the Sanctuary at Valley Avon, and will include many baptisms! Begin your Thanksgiving holiday in this special service where we give thanks to the Lord for all He has provided and celebrate public declarations of faith in Jesus.

Kids: Childcare is available in the Nursery for kids 3 and under.

Scripture: Think about a meaningful verse of Scripture you might be willing to share during the service. These won't be personal stories — simply the sharing of God's Word with each other.

Giving Thanks: There will also be an opportunity to write a short note about something you're thankful for this season. Again, these will be short, and we'll share the notes as evidence of God's work in our lives.

New song: At the service, we'll be singing "Love Changes Everything." Click here to watch the music video!

Please note that most events and gatherings are canceled the week of November 25. The service replaces our usual Tuesday activities, and there are no student events on Wednesday, November 27. The church building will be closed on Thursday/Friday, November 28/29.

World Outreach Thanksgiving Offering

Give online now

Yemen's hunger crisis due to its civil war is the world's worst, according to the United Nations. About 85,000 children have died from malnutrition. Fifteen million people are in dire need of food. One of Valley's missionary partners lives in the Middle East and oversees relief efforts. Half of this year's Thanksgiving Offering will go to assist him.

Youth Challenge of Hartford plans to expand its capacity to serve men and women facing the challenge of addiction. Valley funded the first phase of expansion and hopes to complete the project with half of this year's Thanksgiving Offering.

Donations will be taken during worship services and may also be made online. Click here to give now. Select “WO Thanksgiving Offering” in the “Choose Designation” drop-down box.

Thanksgiving Resources - Capture the Season

The Thanksgiving season provides many opportunities to BLESS others in the name of Jesus. Serving as a family, taking food to others in need, and reaching out to the people in your neighborhood with the grace and mercy of Jesus give you opportunity to share the Good News. Be intentional this November to count the blessings you have received this year and bless others along the way.
