Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Worship Service Times & Styles

We worship together on Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m in the Sanctuary in Avon. There's also a service at 10:30 a.m. at the Avon Campus in The Venue. There are communal dinners on most Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Avon Campus. We also meet as small groups and classes throughout the week.  We look forward to meeting you.

Avon: 590 West Avon Road, Avon, Connecticut. Get directions and contact information.

Bristol: 718 Pine Street, Bristol Connecticut. We meet at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Making more healthy disciples is the goal of Weekday Classes & Groups at Valley! Take a look at the descriptions and schedule below to determine which one will help you become a better disciple. Registration information for each class is also indicated below. Unless otherwise noted, all classes and groups are held at the Avon Campus, and you can join at any time.

Also consider joining a Growth Group or an Adult Community.

Fall Class & Group Descriptions

 

NextGen Parenting Group | Jerry Costley: Getting a little help to be a better parent is a good thing. Videos and discussion are used to sharpen your parenting and relationship skills. REGISTER HERE

Women's Bible Study | Jeannette Brennan: Join us as we study 1 Corinthians, featuring video teachings from author and speaker Jennie Allen. This Bible study will help you discover what it means to live a risky, others-centered life. Book cost is $17. REGISTER HERE

Precept Women's Bible Study | LuAnn Turbiak: This is a study of 1 Timothy called "The Church, the Pillar and Support of the Truth" (November 5 - January 28).How are the people in the church to behave? What happens when we hear teaching that is not the truth? Timothy, a young pastor, was told the answers to these questions in this letter written to him. It contains doctrine and  practical instructions for how people in the church are to live. Workbook cost is $17.  REGISTER HERE

Second Coming Prophecy: Conditions unfolding throughout the world seem to support the theory that Jesus Christ is returning soon. Without speculating or setting dates for His return, we will consider this fascinating topic from biblically-centered perspectives.  REGISTER HERE

Prayer Group: Do you enjoy praying for others? The team prays for the prayer requests from our worship service Connect Cards.

ESL Class: Learn conversational English by speaking with friendly ESL instructors about everyday topics. This class is free for adults who speak other languages.  REGISTER HERE

101 CONNECT: 101 CONNECT helps you to focus on your relationship with Jesus, and learn about Valley's vision and values, and the responsibilities and expectations of those who call Valley home. 101 CONNECT also serves as Valley's membership class. October 1 - 22. REGISTER HERE

Community Bible Study: CBS will study Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers this fall. These books tell the story of how God delivered His chosen people, the Israelites, from Egyptian slavery, and established them as a new nation. They also tell the story of God’s faithfulness to weak and sinful people like us. Themes for application to our lives include doubt and faith, complaining and grace, crisis and intercession, and failure and repentance. Community Bible Study meets from September to May on Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. To register, email Kathy Zirolli or call 860.673.8852.

ESL Bible Study (Women) | Sandy Martin: This group for women whose primary language is not English meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 10 - 11:45 a.m. in the Library. we will read and discuss "Traveling Light" by Max Lucado.
